About Dance 2XS

Established in 2001, Dance 2XS is a comprehensive and family friendly studio. We offer a variety of classes for students from two years of age and are Cairns leading studio for cheerleading, tumbling & acrobatics and aerial silks. We are the only provider of the competitive All Stars Cheerleading program in our region.

Fostering a community of kindness, fun and inclusivity within our studio makes Dance 2XS different from all others. We aim to set our students up to be confident, considerate and caring people within our community.

The teachers at Dance 2XS have a vast range of experience across our disciplines. Our collective approach is to share our love of cheerleading, tumbling, dance and circus while being supportive and encouraging.

OUR VALUES

POSITIVE – We believe in the power of positivity. Through approaching things in a positive and optimistic way we energise, engage and inspire, to bring the best out in our students. We encourage students to have a ‘Can Do’ attitude and always be willing to have a go. Our staff are happy, enthusiastic and teach through praise and encouragement.

INCLUSIVE – We have a strong focus on ensuring everyone feels included and like they have a place at Dance 2XS. Everyone is just as important as everyone else and everyone gets a go. We work to create a cohesive and supportive culture within all our classes and studio events. All students are celebrated and encouraged regardless of their differences.

LEADERSHIP – Dance 2XS is a platform for young people to step up and take the lead and we strongly believe young people have a powerful capacity to develop leadership skills in a variety of ways. Our classes and teacher training programs are designed to inspire confidence and leadership in our young people. We are deeply committed to unlocking and nurturing these young leaders within our community.

COMMUNITY – We’re stronger together and can achieve so much more when we work as part of a passionate community. Dance 2XS is a community. We foster supportive and nurturing connections amongst our staff team, families and students. We believe that Dance 2XS can contribute to the vibrancy and social fabric of Cairns, particularly for young people. We provide a welcoming and friendly environment for our families to enjoy and be a part of.

FUN – In classes we have fun, and lots of it! For students to derive the most benefit and learn they must enjoy what they are doing. Our classes are positive and affirming, they are carefully designed to assist students to develop a love of learning. Our preschool program is underpinned by the notion that children learn best through play.

DanceStep Student Teacher Program

DanceStep is our 4 level Student Teacher Education Program, which teaches students assistant teaching skills such as leadership, student behaviour management, safe dance practices, anatomy, spotting techniques and different learning needs and styles.

Our Studio

Our studio facility is fully air conditioned, modern and spacious. Our dance studio and purpose built tumbling gym with air floor and a fully sprung gymnastic floor make us a one of a kind in Cairns.
